When Gaddafi met Lady Gaga

Last night was Halloween, of course, the best night of the year. This year was a bit sad since K and SA are in the States and got to do REAL Halloween without me and I had to catch a morning flight today. But neither would dampen my spirit for getting dressed up.

I settled on my costume about a month ago. It was going to be so funny! See, Gaddafi was on the run in Libya and no one knew where he was. He came to Senegal at the hotel next to my work (I saw his tent during my lunch breaks, along with some of his handlers, that had these 'cool' Gaddafi t-shirts that I was very tempted to ask how to get one (could of, should of...)). He has also kept a fairly good relationship with President Wade of Senegal, thus the humor in that "Where is Gaddafi? Oh, driving around and going to an American Halloween party in Dakar, of course!" There was much rejoicing.

However, fate dealt its ugly hand to not only Gaddafi himself, but my Halloween ambitions a couple weeks ago. I actually seriously considered falling back on an old costume, but a couple people said that with Gaddafi, there is no such thing as 'too soon' and truth be told, he'd probably be all for it.

Anyways, long story short, sorry, here is Gaddafi living it up at last night's Halloween party! Forgive the poor picture taking quality, it was very dark at the party, thus it was trial and error for everyone taking photos.

Here he is, pre-party seriousness. Note the lovingly thought out accessories. Sunglasses. Check. Drapey cloth. Check. Little hat. Check. Green book. Check.

Gaddafi with Catwoman...

A post, premonition of things to come in his future?!?!?...

And last, but not very least, chilling with the Little Monster herself, Lady Gaga, who knew she was so shiny in real life too?!?

Lots of good costumes at the party, but I must say, the winner of the night in my book was this co-worker who, well, it's better if you just see it for yourself...

Awwwww, another Halloween in the books. Only 364 more days until next year!!!
